School Council

At Priestmead Primary School & Nursery our children are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in pupil voice and involving them in key matters related to our school. Our School Council Parliament is split up into Early, Middle and Later phase and consists of two elected members from each class.

In the Autumn Term the School Council Parliament consists of Middle and Later phase members and Early phase members join the parliament in the Spring Term. The School Council Parliament Members are changed mid-year. Meetings are held on a regular basis and facilitated by members of the Leadership Team.

The School Council meets regularly to discuss a range of issues and these meetings are facilitated by members of the Leadership Team. The School Council Parliament work with our children, staff, parents and governors to support the school ethos, the achievement of the targets on the School Improvement Plan and to co-ordinate fundraising for the school and local and national charities. Following the meetings, the School Council Parliament members discuss the issues raised with their classes and everyone’s voice and opinion is heard and valued.
